Future of Greenland ice Sheet Science (FOGSS) Workshop
The 2024 FOGSS Workshop will take place virtually and in-person at the University of Idaho, Moscow on April 3-4 with special workshops on April 5. Registration is currently open and runs through March 15th. Limited travel support is available to participants—for first consideration, please express your interest in travel support by March 8th via the registration page.
The purpose of FOGSS is to “identify the guiding goal for the Future of Greenland ice Sheet Science as well as map the big missions necessary to achieve this guiding goal.” The workshop includes open discussions as well as an opportunity for researchers to present their work to their peers.

Funding Opportunity: 's Spring 2024 Conference Travel Grant
The Polar Science Early Career Community Office () invites applications for their Spring 2024 Conference Travel Grant. This award is open to early career researchers or K-12 educators based in the United States and affiliated with a U.S.-based institution.
Travel awards to attend and present polar-related work at a conference are open to polar early career scientists and educators. In this Spring 2024 funding cycle, will be distributing $5,000 of awards. Applicants may request a reasonable amount of funding to support their travel to/from a conference, up to a value of $900 per person, with awards aimed at those with demonstrated financial need. An additional $100 is available for awardees who organize a social event at the conference.
2024 Leadership Series Workshop 2: “The Leadership Toolbox: Team-building and Navigating Conflict”
In the second event in 's 2024 Leadership Workshop Series for polar early career researchers, we will focus on how to build an effective team and navigate through conflict when it arises. Learn effective conflict navigation strategies for working in field and lab teams from polar researchers having successfully worked through conflict, including tips for communication across team roles and utilizing early team discussions for trust and performance enhancement. The workshop will conclude with interactive role-playing scenarios to practice navigating through challenging scenarios.
