Developing a Strategy to Evaluate the National Climate Assessment: Call for Experts
About the Activity & the Call for Experts
The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine is seeking suggestions for experts to participate in the new study tasked with developing a strategy for evaluating stakeholder use of the National Climate Assessment (NCA) and selected other US Global Change Research Program () products. The study will consist of a methodological framework and design for a future evaluation and plans for gathering relevant information and data to support such an evaluation including criteria to prioritize stakeholder groups to participate.
Using these suggestions, National Academies staff will be looking to build a committee of approximately 12 volunteer experts in addition to collecting information for potential speakers, participants, and peer reviewers for any publications resulting from the activity.
Based on the Statement of Task, staff are looking for expertise particularly in the following areas:
- Evaluation Instrument Design/Implementation
- Climate Communication
- Stakeholder Engagement (engagement with policymakers, decision makers, etc.)
- Engagement with Historically Marginalized Communities and Underrepresented Stakeholders
- Development Process for National Climate Assessment
- Use of the National Climate Assessment for Decision-Making
