We are excited to announce the launch of a new website feature: our Arctic acronym scroll over function and dictionary. You may have noticed a dotted line beneath some of the text on our website. This is a visual cue that the text is an acronym that can be scrolled over to reveal the meaning of the acronym and a link to further information. For example, scroll over this: IARPC.

The acronyms included in this function are listed in our Arctic Acronym Dictionary. This list was created by the crowd-sourcing efforts of the Arctic research community and the users of our IARPC Collaborations member space (request an account). Please email our Webmaster Jessica Rohde if you would like to add an acronym to our dictionary, and include a link to the organization's website if one is available.

We hope this tool will bring clarity to the alphabet soup of Arctic acronyms. Please share this information with your colleagues and friends, particularly those who may be new to the field and may have an especially hard time sorting through the many, many new organizations and acronyms.
