Using field observations to improve process representation in models is a widely-shared goal of the Arctic science community. However, the path from field measurements to model improvements contains hurdles that can delay or prevent knowledge gains from being translated into models. These hurdles are often not apparent to the broader Arctic science community.
This meeting had two purposes: 1) to broaden understanding of the observations to model pipeline by showing specific examples of new parameterizations. And 2) to facilitate a conversation about how the pipeline might be made more efficient in the future.
