Meeting Goal
The Consortium for the Advancement of Marine Arctic Science (CAMAS) aims to advance the understanding and model representation of key marine Arctic processes that contribute to the rapid changes in the Arctic Earth system. It does so by facilitating and enhancing international collaboration on marine Arctic science, and by engaging the next generation of marine Arctic scientists. CAMAS held its second annual Workshop and Early-Career School in Seattle, WA, in April. About ten project teams are currently pursuing collaborative research to address critical topics in our understanding of the Arctic marine system, by performing coordinated model simulations, model analysis, and model/observational synthesis.
In this seminar, Jackie Clement Kinney provided an overview of CAMAS, and discuss its goals, activities, and accomplishments so far. Then, several of the project leads gave brief overviews of the activities they are leading, inviting the community to participate in ongoing projects.
