One of the goals of the MOMP foundational activity is to “Coordinate activities and communities of practice that bring together Arctic modeling, observing, monitoring, and prediction to advance Arctic research.” Data assimilation is an exemplar of bringing together modeling and observations. In this meeting, we heard highlights from recent research activities in sea ice data assimilation and discuss ideas for coordination and next steps.
